Project 3 - Inclusive Home

It is important for a designer to consider the end‐user of the space that they are designing for. This is especially the case when the end‐user has abilities and needs that differ from the conventional needs in the Built Environment.

You have been tasked to design an inclusive home for Mr and Mrs Jackson as Mr Jackson is in a wheelchair while Mrs Jackson has Parkinson’s disease. To date, the couple has not been able to find a home that suits both of their needs. They have purchased a home that they found somewhat suitable at a very affordable price and have decided to renovate the house to better accommodate their needs.

They have tasked you to come up with solutions for the areas of their home that they usually struggle with. The kitchen and bathroom are areas that they struggle with the most, along with vertical circulation in areas where there are level changes.
